Isin MSO Violinist Oil on Canvas 102 cm w x 153 cm h NFS Artist’s Statement I was lucky enough to record Isin Cakmakcioglu for his Violin/Piano duo album Souvenirs Nostalgiques with Michael Loftus Hills. His beautiful playing inspired me to want to capture his persona with his wonderful instrument. As hard as it is to encapsulate something that is all about the sound and the music, getting in close and personal with Isin and his violin, as it becomes part of him and him a part of it, enabled me to feel the nature of performance and pass it on to the viewer. I can highly recommend purchasing the album at Apple Music and listening while taking in the painting. |
