POWERFUL LISTENING Music Duo, OhPep! Oil on Canvas 200 cm w x 150 cm h $2,500 Artist’s Statement Olivia and Pepita, ‘OhPep!’ have a passionate dynamic and power in their original music of folk, country, bluegrass and pop. Their diverse range, quirks and twists in their music has captivated me immensely. My interpretation of the duo’s bold energy is expressed with the use of palette knife, creating broad daring textures amidst rich contrasting colours in the background and clothing. The sensitivity and delicate intricacies of their hands, instruments and inner expressions on their faces are portrayed with soft and detailed use of fine brush-strokes. This combination of gentle brush-strokes and heavy pallet knife harvests the angelic muse captured and released in this oil painting of ‘OhPep!’. |
