XANI COLAC
Oil on Canvas
122 cm w x 92 h cm
$2,000

Artist’s Statement
Combining the two worlds of music and visual arts is something I am thoroughly enjoying.

Xani Kolac has been an honour to paint.  She is a contemporary composer who creates music capturing raw energetic beautiful chaos that turns into joyous harmonies through her violin and singing.  She is simply infectious if you ever go and see her perform.

The oil painting depicts Xani’s engaging smile as she ‘s looking at the viewer holding her violin.  There are two mirroring figures of her playing violin on either side and through a visual interpretation of curtaining violin strings.

In painting this portrait, I wanted to capture multiple energies and depth of which Xani’s music does.
