"PRIME MINISTER, I JUST WANT THE TRUTH"
Shirley Shackleton, Walkley Award Winner & Activist

Artist’s Statement
At 90, Shirley Shackleton is feisty, furious and fabulous - a seeker of truth and a campaigner for justice.  She is a tenacious intelligent woman, still feared by politicians.

Walkley Award winner and activist, Shirley continues to seek the truth still denied her, regarding journalist husband Greg Shackleton’s murder on 16th October in Timor-Leste in 1975.

I wanted to capture Shirley’s relentless determination - leaving home again for yet another of her sessions with filmmakers, travel to Timor-Leste, board meetings and fundraisers: in fact anything to help promote social justice.

Shirley is a remarkable and unforgettable woman.
