HILL TRIBE WOMAN Charcoal on Cotton Rag 76 cm w x 56 cm h $1,800 Artist’s Statement I created this artwork of a Hill Tribe Woman during my travels through Northern Thailand. I used soft brushes I craft myself and charcoal powder, an ancient technique I learned in the jungles of Northern Thailand where I studied under a Thai Master artist. I can achieve a dramatic effect of contrasting light and shadow. I love using these ancient techniques to create realism, drama and depth in my works. |
