Artist’s Statement
This portrait is about poetry in motion. Kevin Mutton has been writing poetry for many years.  A few years ago, he published a book with a collection of his poems. Incorporated are some of the many poets who have inspired him.

From a very young age, I was drawing and painting.  My inspiration came then mostly from nature and it is still now. Symbolism plays a role in most of my works. I also love painting portraits.

I have developed my technique over many years, rarely mixing colours but layering thin coats of diluted paint. The weekly Life Drawing sessions which I host in my Studio are very important in my development as an artist.  I am forever learning.
