CHRISTINE Mixed Media 55 cm h x 55 cm w NFS Artist’s Statement I shared a house with the subject. Her family were circus performers, in particular her aunt and uncle were wire walkers. She was a curious character, very vibrant. Her sister was a heroin addict. I was robbed a few times but found my belongings at a local pawn shop. It was a chaotic time. I painted Christine in an attempt to understand her chaotic personality, Unfortunately, it gave me few personal insights but I believe I captured her likeness and to some extent the style of her self impression. click on artwork to enlarge |
