MOTHER Acrylic & Oil on Canvas 50 cm w x 75 cm h NFS Artist’s Statement I chose to paint my dear friend Carmella, an artist in her own right through embodiment of the Divine Mother, gracefully tending to life and her soon-to-be two children. Once a fashion designer with her own label, now a guide for women’s healing, her work spans Ayurvedic women’s health, yoga, massage, dance and sacred ritual. She lives in deep communication with Nature and is raising her daughter to do the same. She supports others through ceremony, nature’s medicine, touch and presence. This portrait is a reverent offering to her essence, devoted to love, to motherhood, and to nurturing the next generation with quiet strength and grace. |
