CHARLES KUC, Artist & Mould Maker Oil on Linen 50.8 cm high x 38.1 cm wide NFS Artist’s Statement Charles Kuc is a Melbourne based mould maker, sculptor and intellect. I first met Charles in the early 90’s when I was a mature aged art student at NMCOT. He worked there at the time as a technician in the art department and we became friends. I was recently commissioned to paint this historical portrait of Charles as Erasmus the classicist scholar, (of whom Charles is an admirer) by Hans Holbein the Younger. Holbein’s original painting was made in 1525. My version of this famous and much-copied portrait is an ode to the great German Northern Renaissance Artist. click on artwork to enlarge |
